I don't want to let another second go by without thanking those that have encouraged and supported my decision to run for Eagle Mountain City Council. Having been in this community for such a short time, I am humbled by the number of votes I received and thank those who took of their time to vote. My family and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity we've had during the campaign to meet residents we otherwise may not have met; to further enjoy and cherish the true beauty of this city as we walked through each neighborhood; and to have had the pleasure of running for office with other good people who also want the best for our community. Having gone through this process, I feel much better about our community, about our city government and about the future of our City.

WORK SESSION – CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS
Here are the 3 questions posed by Councilman David Lifferth and my reply to each...
My name is Edwin Camacho. I am a Real Estate Agent.
I am a 3rd generation American Citizen, born and raised in the Spanish speaking US Island of Puerto Rico, which explains my accent.
I moved to UT 11 years ago. I am married and have a 15 year old daughter. Our family fell in love with Eagle Mountain in early 2005 and moved into the city in July of 2006.
I have been interested in politics since I was a little boy and as an adult I was directly involved in running political campaigns back in Puerto Rico.

Q. Who is Edwin Camacho?
A. I’m a 39 year old self-employed Real Estate Agent / Loan Officer who moved to Salt Lake City, Utah while working for Delta Airlines in 1997. I met my wife Daniela in 1999 and was married shortly after. Although I have an accent, I’m a third generation American Citizen by birthright, born and raised in the Spanish speaking US Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. I’m a step father to a lovely 15 year old name Jovana. I have 2 dogs, 1 cat and some fish. I play the guitar, ride motorcycles and love spending time with my family. I’m a religious man who loves his family, friends and community.
First and foremost I am a firm believer that our government and therefore elected government officials are there to serve the people. The first page of my website quotes the following section from “The Proper Role of Government” by Ezra Taft Benson. (Complete copy available online at www.Camacho2007.com).
